In order to qualify for licensure, graduates from one of the seven accredited naturopathic medical schools must pass Parts I and II of the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examination (NPLEX). The NPLEX is a rigorous, standardized licensing examination that is used in all states that license NDs. It is administered by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners (NABNE) twice a year at six different test sites throughout the United States and Canada. After passing the NPLEX, naturopathic medical students can apply for CA licensure. through the state licensing body, called the Naturopathic Medicine Committee (NMC/BNM).
